TikToker's blackfishing allegations have sparked controversy since she is a white girl trying to be racially ambiguous.
'Naturally blessed,' she adds.
People are split about whether or not a white TikToker is guilty of blackfishing.
TikToker Robyn Jordan Warren recently uploaded a video with the caption: "'Another white lady trying to appear racially ambigious,'" followed by a knowing glance into the camera.
Warren has a golden complexion, full lips, and thick, free-flowing hair. According to a remark, she had "some filler" in her lips, although she also claims that they are "naturally large."
More than 200 people have commented on the video, which has had 65,000 views thus far. The caption consisted of two kissy face emojis. As of the time of this writing, Warren has amassed a following of over 35,000 people.
Non-Black individuals who attempt to seem as Black or mixed-race as possible are known as "blackfishing." It's a style that's frequently attained by changing their natural features to appear like those of someone of color. Lip fillers, artificial tans, and curly or braided hairstyles are all examples of this. Other forms of blackfishing include getting plastic surgery to make one's butt larger or speaking in Ebonics to make one's voice seem black.
According to the Huffington Post, Wanna Thompson, a Canadian journalist, invented the phrase.
The worrisome part of this 'phenomenon,' according to Thompson, is that these women may pick and choose whatever parts of Blackness they wish to imitate without having to confront the entire weight of their race.
On Twitter, someone going by the name @user7221511328406 has been posting pictures of themselves as children to demonstrate how much lighter their complexion was as children. Surprisingly, Mama Warren seemed to defend her in the comments, writing: "Dur! That's not the right person! But it isn't my child! What a terrible experience for you.
If these pictures are really Warren, she may or may not be posing with a tan she claims is a result of her natural summer tanning, as shown by Warren's TikTok post. Her bikini line seems to be just visible in the background of the photograph. The deep tan skin close to her white nether parts contrasts sharply with the rest of her skin, which is completely white.
While she may claim to utilize both natural and artificial tans, her own video clearly demonstrates that her skin is inherently white regardless of how she gets her tan. In previous films, she seems to be tanned or at least has a much lighter tan.
Many individuals in the comments section claim that blackfishing does not exist or that African-Americans make a big deal out of nothing. As you may have guessed, blackfishing isn't exactly harmless.
You look great, especially with the tan and the hair. I say leave the victims alone; there are just a few people left." Blackfishing, in the opinion of the majority of people, is a sham.
I'm in awe of your beauty, baby." I believe you're from the United Kingdom. @ragebutmakeitcute said, "honestly, Americans simply don't understand it. Every lady in UK UK is so tan over there that blackfishing doesn't exist here."
