If Facebook is in the process of renaming, people are coming up with creative names like 'Personal Data Collection Inc.,' according to reports.

Names like 'FakeBook' and '#FaceyMcBookface' have been floated.

After a difficult few weeks, Facebook is allegedly considering a rebranding effort within the month.

It's possible, according to The Verge, that Facebook may reveal the upcoming name change on October 28 at its Connect conference. It's been reported that Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus will all be rebranded under a single new brand umbrella. This would be comparable to Google's reorganization under Alphabet's umbrella.

Facebook has recently been under fire for a number of things, and this makeover comes as a result of that. Frances Haugen, a former product manager turned whistleblower, provided the Wall Street Journal with a slew of papers that revealed, among other things, that Facebook was well aware of the negative impact Instagram was having on young people's mental well-being.

Haugen later appeared before a Senate committee, where he spoke about the company's activities earlier this month. Facebook and Instagram had a severe outage just before the testimony, and the business stated that it was "pausing" its plans to establish an Instagram for Kids in response to the Wall Street Journal's revelations.

Many others, however, after word of the upcoming makeover, suggested a name you would recognize: "The Facebook."

It's worth noting that Facebook used to be known as "The Facebook" before changing its name.

Others included "Personal Data Collection Inc," "Data Acquired Inc," "Hot Disinformation Or Not Disinformation," and even "#FaceyMcBookface." Many others also suggested these names.

Some people thought "FakeBook" was a good name.

Chris Hayes of MSNBC recommended that the firm go back even farther, to its "Facemash" roots, and rebrand as "Hot or Not" as a result.
