Notes from a lady reportedly abducted next door are found on TikToker, which claims she was confined in her bedroom.
There are troubling accusations of police misconduct in this tale.
To begin, three dramatic TikTok videos show notes written on the outside of the second-floor window that read "911," describing a possible abduction and detention situation at someone's home.
It all starts with a group of TikTokers and their neighbors going door-to-door to collect a few pieces of paper from the home next door. Someone in the background claims that the messages were written by a lady who was "trapped in the bedroom" upstairadditionally. As the TikToker films a message that reads, "Call 911," the cops had already arrived on the scene. I've been kidnapped and forced to work as a slave. There is no electricity, food, or medicine for me at this time. I'm in bad shape."
After the video went viral (6.7 million views and growing), several commentators questioned whether or not the abduction was a fake by @sydmasterflsh. As a result, in her second status post, @sydmasterflsh provided more details about the alleged crime.
The letters were discovered by her upstairs neighbors first, and when the homeowner next door departed, they were able to talk with the lady who'd written them through the window. In the meanwhile, they dialed 911 and were joined by a lady who claimed to have been kept hostage for five days. However, other members of the household had already let the lady escape before the police arrived.
TikToker: "This is not the first time this has occurred," adding that the residence rents out rooms by the hour and is home to many drug users. Her narrative goes that when the police came, they didn't accept the woman's account and deemed her to be "lying" and perhaps high. In fact, the TikToker claims to have seen it happen on many occasions to female users. "I don't believe her for a second that she's lying."
However, it seems that some people weren't persuaded since @sydmasterflsh later made a third update in which she clarified how she responded to the notes during her first video.
"What was with all the noise?" she enquires. This video of us reading the letters and being loud only happened after the cops had arrived, taken her away, and then gone. " We were conversing with the lady in the window, so we were aware of what was taking on. Because of this, the first video just shows her reading the words out to the camera rather than finding them. At the moment, she characterized herself as "a little taken aback."
While there are many hoaxes on TikTok (not to mention true crime enthusiasts), this TikToker's updates present the tale as a depressingly realistic scenario where local police disbelieved the victim of an alleged incident because they thought she was a drug user or sex worker.
